WEEK 9

This is week 9 or the end of week 9 beginning on week 10. At any rate, I have yet to receive grades on the assignments that I have done. I have finished my proposal, thank goodness. I have learned a lot from this class though. I just hope that I can get my assignments graded so that I can know how I am doing because I surely do not want to take this class over.

WEEK 8

In order to play catch-up I had to incorporate week 7 and 8 together.

Only about 2 more weeks to go. I am now in the process of doing my final assignment which is the proposal. Thankfully, I am almost finish so that I can reach the Dec. 8th deadline of when it is due.

WEEK 7

I also have fell behind on my blogging. I am trying to keep up with three online classes with lengthy assignments and papers to write in two of them. It has been good though ,I just hope that I can pull a B if not an A out of all three classes. I have gained a better understanding about the copyright laws on reading Chapter 7. I didn't realize the seriousness of infringing on someone else's materials.

WEEK SIX

I have also finished my website. It was as simple as simple could get, not that I didn't want it to be extravagant or anything, but I didn't know what I was doing. The time it would take me to design an effective web page would have taken me well beyond the Nov. 7th deadline. It is finished and I hope Ms. Jackson is not like what in the world is this......

These weeks have been going by pretty fast, soon this semester will be over. I am enjoying Technical Communications online and I hope that my classmates are as well, continue to hang in there.

WEEK FIVE

This week I am beginning to work on my web page. I know it will be challenging for me, but it will also be fun. I have never created a web page. In reading Chapter 5 in our text concerning technical communication in the digital world, it gives what the reader needs as far as design issues and writing issues to give the web page the look appeal and the accurate information that it needs.

WEEK FOUR

This week has been progressing along okay, but things are getting a little tight especially when it is getting down to the wire. I have been learning a lot about tech comm. i n reading chapters 4-6, Internet and digital research was a biggie for me because in using the internet for information, you have to make sure that the info is reliable and up to date. Also, it is very tempting if you have to write a research paper and you find on the web a very good example for a paper, and you see some info you could use, to not be guilty of plagiarism.

WEEK THREE

I am a few days behind on posting to discussion board for week three. This is week three isn't it..... This week has been very interesting especially with the fact that I am trying to keep up with three online classes with papers to write in each one. I am learning more and more of the importance of technical communications. Chapter three touched on subjects that are very helpful in my field. In technical writing it is very important to use appropriate grammar style and to revise information and documents to conform to audience feedback.

So far so good...

WEEK TWO

What I have learned this week ,from reading chapter two, is making sure I keep the audience in mind when using technical communication. I am a Medical Technologist by profession, and we use a whole lot of documentation. The purpose of this documentation is to convey to the reader what they are doing and making sure they are following procedure. I may even have to revise a certain procedure or even write one and I have to make sure and ask myself; Who will be reading or using this material? Why is this information needed? What will they do with this information? I would be addressing an expert audience ,so then I would not have to go into great detail about what this or that means as opposed to presenting to an audience who knows nothing about lab procedures.
